Blue Eyes
Within a 48 hour span I received two unsolicited, unrelated compliments regarding my eyes. One was from a woman with whom I was doing a play reading, and the other was from a woman in a restaurant sitting in a large group but right next to me as well. "You have beautiful eyes" the second woman said, "has anyone ever told you that?"
It should be noted that both women were easily past fifty-five, and also the light was situated in such a way as to show them off to full advantage. And, truth be told, they are remarkable eyes when not bloodshot from fatigue or hangovers. But you gotta get what you can in this world, don't you?
Flew to Cleveland yesterday, noticed a bulge in the sidewall of the front tire of the Volvo as I was checking the pressure just before hopping onto the freeway for the trip back to NYC. Went to Firestone. Long story short, four new tires which should be much better in the Cleveland snow than before AND an inevitable blow-out averted.
I swoop in, I plunk down cash, I save the day, AND I have beautiful eyes!

Well, I could have told you that! Big hugs to you!! Cathy
What is this "ageism" I detect! Does being over 55 indicate the inability to discern beauty? Of course you have beautiful blue eyes! (you are welcome!). A line from a favorite musical says, "Take the clouds from your eyes and see [yourself as you]really are!" Any clouds gathered in the past two years are just a fog to be dispelled by the light of today and tomorrow.
Dennis, I miss ya and was hoping you were still blogging and to my happy surprise you are! You write wonderfully…You make the seemingly banal fresh and new, I cant wait for your book haha… anyway I hope you are well and if you find yourself wanting to beat yourself up for any reason, please feel free to ask me to draw up a “Dennis Fox Only” workout plan. Drop me a line any time and be well.
